HOW THE LIFE SAVER SYSTEM WORKS

A humidistat continuously monitors the humidity level of the air inside your piano. When it senses that the humidity level is too low, it activates a humidifier. When is senses that the level is too high, it activates a dehumidifier. A 3-light LED panel lets you know when you need to add more water (twice a month on average) or change the humidifier pads (once a year on average). An easily accessible watering tube is attached to the humidifier to make adding water simple and quick.

DOES YOUR PIANO NEED A CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM?

For over 300 years, piano technicians have been combatting the effects of humidity on pianos. this is because pianos are primarily made of wood; from the wooden parts in the action to the soundboard, pin block, beams and keys. Weed responds to changes in humidity. It swells when the humidity increases and shrinks when the air gets dry. By controlling the level of humidity around your piano, you help ensure it will last for decades without some of the more common problems associated with pianos. Some ways of controlling household humidity are: running you A/C during the summer, installing a humidifier on your furnace for the winter, upgrading windows and doors, and placing portable humidifiers and dehumidifiers in the room with the piano. All of these help to keep household humidity under control. However, larger spaces such as churches, auditoriums, and theatres are simply incapable of controlling humidity. Anyway you look at it, controlling humidity is the key to maintaining a piano in proper order. So the question is, “Do I need a climate control system for my piano?” If your piano is in a large venue, the answer is “absolutely!” If it’s in your home, it depends… how well are you controlling the humidity?
